2. General information

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to operate this website, to answer enquiries or where required by law. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person, for example your IP address.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Berlin. All data is processed exclusively in STRATO data centres in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO.

Each time you visit our website, the server automatically records information that your browser transmits:

  • IP address
  • date and time of access
  • page or file requested and amount of data transferred
  • status code of the request
  • previously visited page (referrer URL)
  • browser type, browser version and operating system

The purpose of this processing is to deliver the website and to ensure the stability and security of its operation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and error-free operation of the website). Our hosting provider stores IP addresses for a maximum of seven days to detect and defend against attacks. The access logs made available to us contain the IP address only in anonymised form (part of the address is replaced by a hash value that changes after 24 hours) and are available to us for the last six weeks. We do not combine this data with other data sources.

4. Cookies and tracking

We do not use any cookies on this website that require consent, and we do not use analytics, tracking or marketing tools. Where technically necessary session cookies are set, they contain no information about you and are deleted when you close your browser (legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our hosting provider does not integrate tracking mechanisms into our website and does not use web analytics services. [Include only once verified: Fonts, images and scripts are loaded exclusively from our own server.] To store your language selection we set a cookie (“pll_language”; content: the language code, e.g. “de”) with a lifetime of one year. It contains no personal data (legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your contact details (for example name, email address, phone number) and the content of your enquiry in order to respond to it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

6. Links to LinkedIn and other websites

On this website we link to our LinkedIn profile and to individual LinkedIn posts. These are simple links. No data is transmitted to LinkedIn when you load our website. You leave our website only when you click a link. From then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
