One office… for everything?

Up to 160 administrative services. Countless websites and platforms. Ever more new accounts. It’s madness! And that’s exactly why it should soon come to an end.

What interactions do businesses actually have with the state? The UK looked into it, and the result is as shocking as expected: businesses use up to 160 different services. And that costs time, time, time, and a whole lot of money. Especially because all these services are scattered across numerous authorities, platforms and websites. But for how much longer?

The vision of the Government Digital Service: a unified, proactive and personalised GOV.UK experience for businesses. So, effectively, one office for everything!

Imagine that in Germany. A business wants to set up a new location and no longer has to communicate with the building authority, the environmental agency, the tax office and ten other bodies, but only with a single one. Will the UK manage this mammoth task? We know from international experience: it’ll be hard. We’ll of course keep you posted.

What would you think of this solution for Germany?
