We’re starting the digitisation year 2026 with a stock-take: how far did Germany get last year? Not far. Because a trip to an authority in Germany still takes an average of 2 hours and 5 minutes right now — if you even manage to get an appointment. 58% of the people surveyed by Bitkom say they had trouble getting an appointment at all. And 43% say: their matter could easily have been handled online.

None of this would have to be this way. Because if we consistently digitise administration, a digital trip to an authority could soon be done in a few minutes, no appointment needed. We want to, and will, keep showing here this year how that works — and above all, how it works well and sustainably.
